BMW 3: General information

The vehicle is supplied with two vehicle keys with integrated key.

Each vehicle key contains a replaceable battery.

Depending on the equipment and country version, various settings can be configured for the button functions.

A driver profile with personal settings can be assigned to a vehicle key.

To provide information on maintenance requirements, the service data is stored in the vehicle key.

To prevent possible locking in of the vehicle key, take the vehicle key with you when exiting the vehicle.

Safety information

Warning People or animals in the vehicle can lock the doors from the inside and lock themselves in. In this case, the vehicle cannot be opened from the outside. There is a risk of injury. Take the vehicle key with you so that the vehicle can be opened from the outside.

Warning For some country versions, unlocking from the inside is only possible with special knowledge.

Persons who spend a lengthy time in the vehicle while being exposed to extreme temperatures are at risk of injury or death. Do not lock the vehicle from the outside when there are people in it.

Warning Unattended children or animals in the vehicle can cause the vehicle to move and endanger themselves and traffic, for instance due to the following actions:

  • Pressing the Start/Stop button.
  • Releasing the parking brake.
  • Opening and closing the doors or windows.
  • Engaging selector lever position N.
  • Using vehicle equipment.

There is a risk of accidents or injuries. Do not leave children or animals unattended in the vehicle.

Take the vehicle key with you when exiting and lock the vehicle.

     Replacing the battery

     Route guidance

    Adaptive recuperation uses the data and calculations of the route-ahead assistant. In this way, adaptive recuperation can be used by the navigation system when route guidance is both active and not being used. When the route guidance is not active, the most likely route is used for evaluation. H

     Displays and operation

    The function does not have any separate display or operating elements. The function is only available in the HYBRID ECO PRO driving mode. The function cannot be deactivated. Recuperation is displayed as usual in the instrument cluster below the drive-ready state indicator (CHARGE area).
